HydroDrill™

High-Torque Rotary Drilling Action

Through a water flushing and rotary drilling action, the Conco HydroDrilling system is the fastest and most effective way to remove difficult deposits from the inside of heat exchanger tubes, chemical reactors, condensers, re-boilers and absorbers. The revolutionary HydroDrill™ high-torque cleaning system removes obstructions from any type of tube ranging from 3/8” to 6” in diameter and up to 40’ in length” to “3/8” to 2-1/2” in diameter and up to 60’ in length. It can effectively clean hard deposits such as coke, calcium, sulfur, bauxite, asphalt, oxides and baked-on hard polymers. Completely blocked tubes can be restored to 100% of the original tube I.D. The HydroDrill is fast, typically cleaning 20-foot long tubes in 30 to 90 seconds each. Experienced HydroDrilling crews from Conco complete jobs safely, on time and within budget.

Features
  • Faster and more effective than alternative methods
  • Single-pass operation reduces cost compared to other methods requiring multiple passes
  • Eliminates need for expensive off-site thermal or chemical cleaning treatments
  • Polishes tube I.D.'s to as-new condition
Configured to Match the Job

Standard (ELIMINATOR), Heavy Duty (DOMINATOR), and Hand Held (MM II) HydroDrill units are all designed for maximum cleaning effectiveness with minimal risk of tube damage. The HydroDrill bit, spinning at 1,000 to 2,000 RPM, removes deposits with a rotary scraping action. The HydroDrill has been used repeatedly to clean process fouling on some exchangers over a thousand times, with no tube damage or degradation. The HydroDrill can even accommodate tubes that are bowed, since the long, slender “kelly” rod that drives the bit inherently bends to follow the tube. It is easy to setup and operate and a Conco crew can be in-the-cut in an hour or less. Controlled by only a foot pedal and 4-way valve, the HydroDrill uses just 2 to 3 GPM of water, supplied at 200 to 300 PSI by the system's booster pump. In over 30 years, the HydroDrill System has successfully cleaned thousands of heat exchangers, worldwide.
